HUNTER CLASSICS AMATEUR WOMEN'S TOUR
Oct 3-4, 1998
Round Rock, TX
G Cue Billiards

Although it was a beautiful, sunny weekend in Round Rock, TX on the weekend of October 3-4, no female pool player in their right mind would be outside - we were all inside G-Cue Billiards playing some great pool!

The WPBA Pros ruled the show and won each tournament at the seventh stop at G-Cue Billiards!  Shelly Barnes won the main event, playing excellent, and receiving her $1000 first place prize money, while Holly Sholes won the Second Chance Event and $175, and Kristi Carter won the
Angry-Women's-Last-Chance-Winner-Take-All-Tournament and pocketed $110!!

Although the Pros were in full force, some new faces placed high for the first time.  Shayla Neris and Nancy Repp placed 9th-12th for their first time and Melinda Bailey placed 4th, for her first time.   Austin-ites Kim Tipton and Deanna Kniola held Austin crowds together by placing 5/6th each.  And Monica Webb won $450 AND the WBPA qualifier into the Gentleman Jack Tournament in 1999 for her second place finish!

Congratulations to everyone for a fine and outstanding pool-performance weekend!

Kevin, a regular from G-Cue Billiards, won the Joss cue and the gang from Alvin all pitched in money to buy 100 raffle tickets, and they ended up winning the beautiful Hunter Classics Custom Cue!  Rumour has it they will hold a small tournament amongst themselves to see who will keep the cue!  Good luck gang!  We currently have 2 nominations for most-imporved player, keep the names and nominations coming!  A big thanks to Rich Wolkowsky for being our main referee during the tournament!

Many people won many awesome Halloween raffle items!  Including witch hats, jack-o-lanterns, candy, stuffed animals, singing skulls, ceramic pumpkins and scarecrows!  For the next stop and last stop, we will have great Christmas items to raffle off!  See you there!

Check out the charts for the second chance and last chance.

Once again, special thanks to everyone who made this stop possible.  To Wes Hunter for donating such a beautiful custom cue.  Thanks to the wonderful staff at G-Cue Billiards who put on a wonderful tournament. Thank you to our patient bartender, and owners of G-Cue.  G-Cue Billiards is a fabulous facility with all 9 foot tables that were just refelted a week before the tournament!  Be sure to visit them next time you are in Round Rock, TX!
And, also to Gentleman Jack for contributing money to the second chance tournament, and for a WPBA qualifier spot.
