HUNTER CLASSICS AMATEUR WOMEN'S TOUR What are the Odds?

It's Vegas.  Place your bets.  Who is going to place money on both Lisa Marr to win the tournament at Pool Sharks in Las Vegas just like she did last year AND that the winner of the Hunter Classics Custom Cue would be won by Stephanie Whitman again, just like last year?   Well, you should have - ironically, it happened!  Only in Vegas, right?

Joe Canella and John Kutcher welcomed the Hunter Classics Tour again to their 24-hour pool room, Pool Sharks, in Las Vegas, NV on the weekend of Sept 20-21.  Players from California, Minnesota, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and Colorado show up for the event and the WPBA Qualifier.

Lisa Marr, from Arkansas, was in the bottom half of the bracket of this tournament, the bracket which everyone was saying was "tough" because of the caliber of players in it.  Lisa started off her first four matches with identical scores of 7-5 against Lucille Donahue, Shelly Johnson, Leslie Anne Rogers and Terri Kelley before defeating Toni Tucker 7-1 for the hotseat.  While Lisa waited fro Toni to barely defeat Terri Kelley 7-6, she was probably thinking to herself, "I won this tournament last year.  Will I do it again?"

Playing in the "pit" (a lowered area of the pool room where the audience is above the match, watching every move), Lisa started off losing the first set only 6-7.  It looked like Toni was not going to give up, but Lisa dominated the second set 7-2 and won her second tournament in a row on the Hunter Classics Tour, $750 and the WPBA Qualifier!

In the Second Chance Tournament on Sunday, Board Member Lucille Donahue won the tournament and $90.  Although Lucille has been here before, Tracie Boles from Texas was very excited of her second place finish - her highest finish yet.  And from Vegas, Cindy Peltzer finished third and Summer Gage finished fourth - both a very hard fought and impressive finish!

Congratulations to all the ladies!  And thank you to Wes Hunter for the beautiful Hunter Classics Cue donated to this stop!
