It began quite innocently. I was
with some friends at a local pool hall when I asked the waitress what
was going on at the other side of the place and she said it was League
pool nite. Next thing I know the manager rushes over and recruits me
for a team that’s needing one more person and oh by the way, can I
play that same night? I said sure, why not and that’s all she wrote. I
was hooked! I want to thank that team for kicking me off the next
session. (I wasn’t good enough) It gave me the determination to learn
more about this game and my new teams have benefited from it. So I
began practicing and that’s when I met Melinda Dunbar. She was working
at Eric’s. She’d see me in there for hours and knew I had the fever.
She began to give me practice tips and I’ll always credit her for
starting me off in the right direction.
Thanks to Sharon Townsend for convincing me to go to my first Hunter
Stop and
making me feel a part of the sisterhood. She’s a heck of a travel
partner but
make sure you take a sack lunch, isn’t that right, Sherry?
Oh by the way, in case you were wondering, I did meet my former team
again and oh yes, I beat the guy they replaced me with! Sweeeeeeeeeet!
Anyway, that’s it in a nutshell. See ya’ll at the next stop!
